Taoyuan, Taipei (Merxwire) – The population density of Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is eight times that of Beijing. The average housing price exceeds US$700,000, which has led many people to choose to live in other cities. Taoyuan City is close to Taipei. Lower housing prices, convenient transportation, and high-density park construction have continuously increased the population growth rate in recent years. The largest park in the Guishan District of Taoyuan,” Chung Cheng Park, “has recently been rebuilt. The vast activity space and fitness facilities suitable for all ages attract people to exercise and play. The largest turtle statue in Taiwan has become the focus of public attention. “Climbing the turtle” has become a unique game for local children.

There is a stone statue of “the largest turtle in Taiwan” in Chung Cheng Park, with nearly two basketball courts called “Turtle Park” by the locals. Since its establishment more than 30 years ago, the government has recently spent NTD46.5 million to repair the entire park, level the ground in the park, strengthen the barrier-free connection of the whole area, bring the big tortoise and the big tree closer to the people, so that the three generations of old, middle and young people can relax and exercise freely. In addition to the environmental renovation, an inclusive playground suitable for children, a basketball court, a bicycle path, and a multifunctional turf have been added.

The Nankan River Bicycle Path in Taoyuan is 15 kilometers long, connecting Guishan, Taoyuan, Luzhu, and Dayuan urban areas with a park and a landscape bridge. In line with the overall planning of the Bicycle Path, Chung Cheng Park becomes a starting point for the bicycle path. It is suitable for people of all ages to ride bicycles. Enjoy the scenery on the Nankan River banks and various leisure facilities on the safe and flat bicycle path, all the way to Zhuwei Fishing Harbor.

Taoyuan’s Guishan District is close to Linkou, Xinzhuang, Shulin, and Yingge in New Taipei City, and has become a new choice for people working in Taipei and New Taipei City. Guishan District is home to Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, several universities, and industrial parks, with complete living functions, making Guishan with the highest population growth rate in Taoyuan in recent years, ranking fourth in the country.

In recent years, Taiwan has been actively shaping the international image of significant cities and enhancing each township’s characteristic development. Taoyuan City Government continues to build various facilities in Guishan District and the MRT Brown Line that passes through Guishan. It is expected that the comprehensive plan will be completed in 2020, and the traffic time to downtown Taipei will be significantly reduced after completion. Simultaneously, the city government actively promotes the park renovation plan, plans diversified green spaces and amusement spaces, and increased residents’ happiness through actual construction.
