See Kai Run introduces lightweight, flexible and proportionately designed new children’s boots that offer parents an alternative to traditional winter boots.
Bothell, WA (Merxwire) – Most of the winter boots are cumbersome and sturdy, but with new materials and techniques over the years, there are more suitable materials for making winter boots for children. The children’s brand See Kai Run uses children’s boots with new materials and technology to lead the fashion.
“Most kids’ winter boots do a wonderful job protecting kids from cold-weather conditions,”
Rockey and See Kai Run design teams believe that children’s feet are different from adult feet, so shoes that naturally form the feet are needed to make children’s feet grow healthily.
“Kids’ feet are changing shape as they grow; fat pads dissolve, cartilage becomes bone, muscles strengthen, and over time arches develop,” explains Rockey. “Kids’ footwear, even winter boots need to promote this growth and development.”
For the design team at See Kai Run, this meant designing a winter boot that follows the foot shape of a growing foot; something they call, proportional engineering. A winter boot also needs to be lightweight and flexible, which helps develop balance and stride.
“Because of new technologies and materials we’re able to construct a boot that is lightweight and flexible and still protect little feet from cold-weather conditions,”
See Kai Run makes both waterproof and waterproof/insulated boots for boys and girls in first walker to grade school sizes. Both styles are waterproof up to 10,000 millibars of water pressure for up to four hours. To achieve this durability, See Kai Run boots feature seam-sealed membrane construction and gusseted tongues that keep water and dirt out Rubber toe caps and deep lug treads on the outsole provide added protection and durability. Insulated styles features 3M Thinsulate™ lining that is cold rated to -35 degrees Fahrenheit.
“Having a boot that provides the protection and durability to handle cold-weather conditions while also promoting healthy foot development is a win-win for parents and kids,” says Rockey.
See Kai Run waterproof and waterproof insulated boots come in sizes 4 to 4y and are currently available at REI, Backcountry.com, seekairun.com and other select retail and online stores.
