An exhibition featuring a cluster of ink-wash paintings and calligraphy works created by Wu Li-Ying is showcased at at the Art Museum of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Hsinchu County through November 14.

In the Greater China region, the painters of the “Chinese Art and Cultural Exchange Association” always create artworks that are of concern to the market. The Honorary Director Cheng Mei-Hsiang is Wu Li-Ying’s painting enlightenment teacher. Her flower and bird paintings are full of color and vitality; Deputy Director Hsu Yu-Hui’s “Fortune and Peace” shows the things that Chinese families value most. The works of Chiu A-Chiao, Shen Hsiang-Ping, Wu Shih-Yen and Chou Yao-Tsung also created great repercussions online.

Wu Li-Ying – the Secretary-General of the Chinese Art and Culture Exchange Association, the most noticed female creator of calligraphy and painting in recent years. After decades of study, she has developed her own iconic colors and freehand styles, one which also refers the scientific colors and light and shades seen in Western Impressionism. From the street, Wu’s small art gallery is unassuming: there are no compartments, simple white walls and a drawing board. But, on a tour of the grounds with Wu and other artists, glimpses soon emerge of the artistic alchemy that happens within.

Most collectors believe that it is difficult to select Chinese artworks. However, a senior art curator has some suggestions for novice collectors: Truly resonates with you, learn the artist’s history or biography, the influence of artists. The more you know, the more you experience, the more you can bring to your understanding of it.

Chinese paintings come in a variety of styles. Some are monochrome, some are very bright. Some are in the style of literati, which means that they tend to attach importance to the brushwork of “presentation of emotions and hearts” rather than meticulousness and truthfulness as an expression of personal creativity. Palace paintings are made in gong-bi, use exact details to appear more decorative.

In the ongoing painting exhibition, in addition to the physical works in the art museum, the China Art Exchange Association has cooperated with Asia’s top art public relations team – MerxArt, to launch online live stream. Many artists will have a dialogue with online audiences and are interested in Chinese ink painting and calligraphy. The art lovers, it’s worth going online to interact with them! In addition to the Chinese Art and Culture Exchange Association, dozens of art creators shared their creative ideas on the live broadcast, which is worth watching and listening to collectors online.
