Durham, NC (Merxwire) – Regarding love: passionate love, restrained love, and long-distance love, which one do you like? No matter which kind of love you choose, high-quality love can make people younger! According to a study by the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University, couples with a good relationship status will age more slowly, while discordant love will accelerate aging.

Everyone knows that being in love will make the body produce dopamine, and this substance will make the mood happy. In fact, whether it is love, food or shopping, it can make people feel happy. Couple live together so that they will affect each other for a long time. If the feelings are not harmonious, they will hit the body and mind.

Duke University’s research was recently published in the international journal Psychology and Aging. Its team analyzed the emotional lives and conditions of 1,037 participants born in New Zealand. They were all born between April 1972 and March 1973. The Participants were assessed for their health based on four age groups (26, 32, 38, 45).

The results found that among all participants, 883 were in love in the four age ranges, 62 were in love in three age ranges, and 29 were in love in two age ranges; 55 of them have never been in a relationship, or only have a relationship at one stage. Compared with other participants, the 55 participants’ aging rate was significantly faster, the difference in physiological aging was about 2.9 years, and the degree of influence of men and women was similar.

Studies have shown that, compared with people who have a harmonious relationship, a disharmonious relationship accelerates the rate of physical aging. At the same time, the speed of aging is also closely related to the degree of violence between partners. People who have to endure partner violence will age faster, especially when they suffer physical violence from their partners.
