Taipei, Taiwan (Merxwire) – To develop Taiwan’s incubation ecosystem and facilitate corporate startup engagement (CSE), the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs has published the “2022 Taiwan’s Corporate Innovation and Startup Ecosystem”, which provides an in-depth review of the current situation of Taiwan’s incubation industry.
Similar to the previous year’s approach, from an industry perspective, the 2022 Report provides an overview of Taiwan’s industry and startup ecosystem in terms of three aspects: corporate innovation, venture investment, and startup incubation. In addition, the “2022 Taiwan CSE Survey” was carried out this year (2022) involving more than 300 medium-to large-sized enterprises (MLEs). The results indicate that 39.4% of the participating enterprises already had prior interaction with startups. In particular, startups in the areas of AI, smart manufacturing, security, fintech, and IoT are being given collaboration priority by the MLEs. This implies that CSE has become a dominant trend within the industry.
Furthermore, the Report also provides in-depth analyses of key topics relating to Taiwan’s startup investment environment, as well as the current situation of incubation accelerators. Owing to the prospering startup ecosystem in Taiwan, a research shows that venture capital firms from overseas have started to invest in Taiwanese startups, while international startups’ participation in Taiwanese accelerators has also increased. This demonstrates the successful internationalization of Taiwan’s startup environment, its technical capability, and its relevant talents.
Overall, Taiwan’s startup ecosystem continues to thrive. The aim of publishing the “2022 Taiwan’s Corporate Innovation and Startup Ecosystem” is to provide all aspirants with an overview and some useful guidance in relation to the Taiwanese incubation industry.
