Japan Tourism White Paper Released, Government would Handle Overtourism Properly
The 2024 Japan Tourism White Paper mentioned that the number of foreign tourists coming to Japan in 2023 has reached 80% of that in 2019, and the number of foreign tourists in October last year exceeded the monthly number of tourists in 2019, which shows the popularity of Japan’s tourism industry. However, overtourism has also occurred in popular tourist spots, which needs to be properly handled according to local conditions.
