UN Gender Social Norms Index Finds Discrimination against Women is Still Serious, Road to Gender Equality is Heavy

The United Nations Development Program recently released the latest “Gender Social Norms Index”, which shows that nearly 90% of the world’s population still holds prejudice against women. More than half of the population believes that men are more capable of becoming good political figures. A quarter of men think it is justifiable to beat their wives.
